About Arlington Attack
The Goal
Arlington Attack Lacrosse Club exists to grow the game of lacrosse across Arlington Heights, Mt. Prospect, Prospect Heights, and the surrounding District 214 communities - by creating a fun, welcoming, and development-focused environment where kids learn the sport the right way.
Our goal is simple: help every player build strong fundamentals, confidence, and friendships while developing a love for the game that lasts beyond any single season. We teach lacrosse skills and lacrosse IQ, but we also emphasize what matters most in youth sports: sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and positive competition.
As part of our commitment to a healthy team culture, Arlington Attack is built with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) standards in mind. Coaches and families are aligned around positive reinforcement, effort-based learning, and creating an environment where players are encouraged to work hard, support each other, and have fun while improving.
Our Story
Arlington Attack Lacrosse Club is part of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA), a 503(c) nonprofit organization whose roots trace back to the 1950s—formed when the Arlington Heights Park District Little League program outgrew the Park District’s resources. AHYAA provides access to affordable, participative recreational sports programs led by local volunteers—parents, grandparents, and community members—focused on skill development, positive reinforcement, and new friendships in a fun environment.
Arlington Attack was founded in 2018 with a clear mission: build a strong, community-based youth lacrosse program that would grow participation across District 214 and ultimately help demonstrate the demand needed for lacrosse to become a sanctioned varsity sport.
In 2019, Arlington Attack merged with the Arlington Falcons (District 214’s high school club program), creating a unified pathway for players from kindergarten through high school. In just its second year, Arlington Attack became the second-largest youth lacrosse program in Illinois, reflecting the momentum and demand for the sport in our community.
In 2020, prior to the COVID cancellation, the program reached a major scale milestone—fielding 9 youth teams and 3 high school teams, while also introducing an instructional option for new players. Participation grew to 280+ players program-wide, and Arlington Attack’s original varsity goal became reality when District 214 announced boys and girls varsity lacrosse beginning in the 2021 season.
In 2021, Arlington Attack expanded to offer Youth Girls Lacrosse and continued to invest in instructional programming—helping new players learn the “FUN-damentals” of the game while strengthening the long-term pipeline across both boys and girls programs.
Since 2022, Arlington Attack has continued to grow into one of the largest community-based youth lacrosse programs in the state. Alumni from the program have competed at multiple District 214-area schools—including Hersey, Prospect, St. Viator, Buffalo Grove, Rolling Meadows, Wheeling, and Elk Grove—earning recognition such as all-conference and all-state honors and, in some cases, collegiate athletic scholarships.
In 2023, Arlington Attack expanded programming beyond the traditional spring season by growing summer and fall training offerings, giving players more opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, and stay connected to the sport year-round.
Looking ahead, the club’s growth trajectory remains strong, and we maintain the core focus that has defined the program from day one: develop great teammates, build confident athletes, and grow lacrosse in our community with a culture rooted in positivity, fundamentals, and fun.
